Ha, ha, ha, ha, you’ve gotta be fuckin’ kiddin’ – Sam Worthington in another film that requires him to put on an accent?!?! Regular readers (and Podcast listeners) will know how often Glenn and I have ripped the shit out of Sam Worthington’s accent in films. I’ve known 3 year olds who have more success in holding an accent! So it’s with a certain hesitation I present to you a trailer for his new film, The Debt.
The film is a remake of an Israeli film from 2007 and stars Helen Mirren, Marton Csokas, Jessica Chastain, Ciaran Hinds and Tom Wilkinson. Directed by John Madden, it takes place in 1965 and focuses on the story of three Israeli Mossad agents on a mission to kill a Nazi war criminal. 30 years later a man who claims he is that same Nazi has turned up, so the ageing agents must go back undercover to discover the truth.
I really like the look of this – but I’m pretty sure Worthington will fuck it up.
