Based on the true-life Yorkshire Ripper investigations, each film in The Red Riding trilogy takes place in one of three different time frames, 1974, 1980 and 1983. The series of films star David Morrissey, Sean Bean, Mark Addy and Andrew Garfield (who I last saw in the brilliant Boy A).
All three films were shown on Channel 4 on UK TV last year and I remember everyone talking about it, but sadly I never got round to watching them. From the trailer, I’d say they are worth a dixie…
The films are getting a cinematic release in the U.S sometime in February (no firm date).
