Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has been talking to MTV and has revealed that he intends to use 3D technology in the film the way the Wizard of Oz used Technicolor, which I kinda like.
“Our approach is not like “Avatar,” which I think is 3D from the first shot to the last. Ours is sort of a Wizard Of Oz. approach. Ninety-eight percent of the 3D is in the world of “Tron.” The 3D really starts once we get into the Tron world.”
Kosinski also goes on to explain that the teaser video of the lightcycle racing and the two Jeff Brigdes’ shown at ComicCon won’t actually appear in the film and that those events take (took) place before the movie starts. An apparently, the film will look much more advanced than the teaser shows. Awesome!!!
On a related note, a leaked demo of Daft Punks contribution to the soundtrack (aren’t they doing the whole thing?). The track is called “Fragile” and turned up on Daft Punk fansite Daft World the other day. It clearly is a soundtrack rather than a “song”, and I quite like it – it’s quite hypnotic in its own way, modern and I think it’s a really bold step. I’m really looking forward to this…
Have a listen for yourself.
