Well it had to happen, but who would have thought it would have been by a romantic drama! Avatar has enjoyed the US box office top spot since its release in December and in doing so has gone on to break all kinds of records, not least the high grossing film worldwide (currently at $2,204,7XX,XXX) sinking (sorry) Titanic’s 12 year rule.
Then comes along Dear John, a romantic drama starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum, which not only topples the big dog, but also manages to make back its budget and a small profit in it’s opening weekend! Well done I guess. Hey, and it’s not even in 3D! ha, ha!
