And today Sam Worthington will be playing... Dracula?!

FUCK!! Again with Sam Worthington.

I know it’s not online just yet, but Glenn and I recorded a podcast the other day and we talk at great length about the conundrum that is Sam Worthington – so much so that I’ve had to edit it down (just in case he turns up on our doorstep one day and smacks us in the mouth!). Anyway, I won’t spoil it, but needless to say (and as previously documented) Sam Worthington, in movies, confuses the fuck out of us.

Well apparently according to Latino Review, Sam Worthington is now up for the role of Dracula (As in, Count) in Alex Proyas’ Dracula Year Zero. The script is by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and focuses on Vlad the Impaler, the Romanuian royal who inspired Bram Stokers tale of Dracula, and the choices he made that made him become… yadda, yadda, yadda. Sorry I was boring myself a little there. This pisses me off for two reasons

1. Sam Worthington. He aint great. We went to see Avatar for the experience of being eye and brain fucked, not to see Sam.

And

B. Alex Proyas used to be great! The Crow, Dark City (not to everyone’s taste), even I, Robot was good I thought. I read a few years back (long before Darren Aronofsky fucked up) that Proyas was looking to revive the Robocop franchise with some kind of future war/battling robot type thing which I kinda liked the sound of.

Now he’s doing Dracula.
