Alright, every time I mention the flick Malcolm… I’m always met with a blank look, does anybody out there other than me -- remember this classic? The film takes place in Australia and tells the tale of ‘Malcolm’ a morbid recluse who happens to be a engineering genius, he befriends two criminals and they attempt to pull off a heist using Malcolm’s awesome inventions.
Malcolm is awesome for two notable scenes… one where he and his comrades steal from a bank using remote control ashtrays (I told you the film was fucking awesome) and the other features Malcolm’s incredible splitting car. The ashtray scene in particular is terrific, the soundtrack in particular is something to behold (there’s no doubt if you’re from the UK, you’ve already heard it in the old BT commercials… it sounds like a spectrum 48k having sexual intercourse with a telephone. Check out both scenes below and let me know if these jog your memory… I can’t be alone remembering this classic.
