Glenn's audition for Tron TV did not go well
As any followers of this site will know, Glenn and I are uber psyched about the arrival of Tron Legacy, so when I read stories like this it sends a chill down my spine. Aint It Cool are reporting that Disney Execs are so impressed with what they have achieved with Tron Legacy that they are fast tracking word on the next instalment… only it won’t be a new film, well not straight away… According to their source, The Great Gonzo (not the ACTUAL Gonzo I assume) if the long overdue Tron sequel does well at the box office then a spin off TV show may emerge:
“[A]pparently (Disney) the top brass is so psyched about Tron: Legacy that they’re planning a TV show for 2011 & 2012 (probably for Disney XD). No news on whether it will be animated or live action. They’re also already planning another Tron film for 2013.”
Wow, this has kinda pissed me off! A (potentially) great sequel is going to get watered down into some crappy kids TV show – then a further watered down sequel based more on the TV show than the first two films will get released, no doubt straight to dvd.
Disney, stop patting yourselves on the back so hard, you might fall over!
