Whilst on the set of Resident Evil: Afterlife, Paul Jones (who was the special makeup effects designer on Silent Hill) gave ShockTillYouDrop.com an update on Silent Hill 2.
“I was working on storyboards for that around the same time last year,” Jones revealed. “It’s going to be pretty crazy. There’s a lot of cool stuff in there. Roger (Avary) has some awesome ideas and hopefully we’re going to bring that to fruition sometime next year.”
He would not comment on whether the script was complete, but he said that with a smile.
I know the first film took quite a lot of shit, but I remember going to see this with fellow filmtwat Reg when it was released in 2006 and I quite enjoyed it, to quote Reg “it’s kinda like a modern day Hellraiser” and I get that (obviously it’s nothing really like Hellraiser, but), I get where he’s coming from.
I love films that are nightmarish, were things don’t make a lot of sense (not because of bad storytelling like Plan 9 from Outer Space) but intentionally, like the guy with the triangle head or the burnt girl.
The first film was directed by Christophe Gans and earned $97.6 million worldwide.
